Paper Abstract:      There is an increased need to better understand older individuals’ use of online services for travel purposes. A quantitative study was conducted to test if travel style affect young-elderly (aged 60 – 75) Internet-users’ propensity to go online for travel purposes. The results suggest that main travel style (self-organized vs. packaged travel), at least partly, play a role in young-elderly individuals’ propensity to go online in the different stages of the trip. Especially online booking activities before the trip and acquiring information with mobile devices during the trip seem to be driven by a self-organizing travel style. The young-elderly Internet users that mainly engage in a self-organized travel style also perceive self-organized trips online significantly more positively than those that mainly engage in a packaged travel style.
